STEM Final

A huge well done to two of our year 9 students who represented SJT in the annual Lancashire STEM Regional Finals. They did SJT proud.

To get through, the students had to battle their way through several different STEM challenges which included; a robotic challenge, e-fit, electronic car and diagnostics. They both did an amazing job, beating off hundreds of other competitors from different schools across the North West which earned them both a well-deserved place in the finals.

The finals took place at Manchester University and our students paired up with two other students from St. Augustine’s RC High School. Students demonstrated communication, resilience, team building and coding skills.

At the end of the day, all the teams had to do a 5-minute presentation on their findings (very nerve-racking) but they oozed confidence.

The students unfortunately did not get placed but they are winners to us! They were both fantastic.

At the end of the day the students were presented with certificates from the Lord Mayor.

A great achievement and one to be proud of.
