What will students learn Students must develop their understanding of how global climates have changed over time. Students must learn the causes and impacts of global climate change and begin to consider the idea of sustainable living.

The historical change in global climates from the Ice Age to present. In general, the causes and impacts of climate change on people and places; how sustainable living can mitigate these impacts. 

This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding 

Students will have knowledge of continents, major oceans and UK physical geography.  

Students will have knowledge of different climate zones. 

Key Skills that students should be able to demonstrate at the end of 'Topic' This is the skills  that students will meet for the first time in this topic Students will be able to read a climate graph.
This is skills that students may have met before but will need to develop  Students will be able to use a variety of maps and atlas' to locate places
