What will students learn The historical context surrounding the Pop Art movement. The work of Andy Warhol and the meaning behind it. How to work in the Pop Art style. How to observe lettering accurately. How to use pencil crayon to create form and tone by layering and blending colours.
Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic  The social and historical context of Pop Art and the influential artists of the movement focussing on the life and work of Andy Warhol. Students will understand how to work in the style of the Pop Artists to create their own inspired piece of art.
This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding  Students should have gained knowledge of the colour wheel and colour mixing. They should understand what harmonious and contrasting colours are. Students have studied an art movement and will know how social influences shape the art world.
Key Skills that students should be able to demonstrate at the end of 'Topic' This is the skills  that students will meet for the first time in this topic How to use guidelines to help plan and measure when observing, particularly with lettering
This is skills that students may have met before but will need to develop  How to use pencil crayon to blend and layer colours together to achieve form and tone.
