Taught within the science curriculum: contraception, consent and the risks of STI’s. 

Readiness for sexual activity, the choice to delay sex, or enjoy intimacy without sex  STIs, effective use of condoms and negotiating safer sex

The consequences of unprotected sex, including pregnancy  how the portrayal of relationships in the media and pornography might affect expectations (Pornography is taught in Year 11)
Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic  In this unit students will learn about: Girls Body image, the influences of media on body image. British values, religions and culture. What is Peer Pressure....Taught within the science curriculum: contraception, consent and the risks of STI’s. Pornography is taught in Year 11
This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding  Most students will have previously studied aspects of Family - and respectful relationships and may have prior knowledge these topics
Key Skills that students should be able to demonstrate at the end of 'Topic' This is the skills  that students will meet for the first time in this topic In order to prepare students for life they must be given the opportunity to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk-management, teamworking and critical thinking in the context of three core themes: health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and aspects of careers education).Students will acquire the skills to make healthy judgements and decide for themselves regarding judging media images and influences. They will develop skills to celebrate both British Values and another culture successfully.
