KS3 students explore Skipton Castle

As a reward for their entries in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Competition, students from across Key Stage 3 were taken on a trip to Skipton Castle.

Students were taken on a tour of the castle by experienced and knowledgeable guides. Students were able to see the strategic positioning and features of the castle as a method of defence and attack during wars and conflicts. Within the castle, the students explored many areas for example the kitchen, the banqueting hall and the extremely dark dungeon!

This visit compliments the year 7 Middle Ages unit within the History curriculum.

It was great to take a range of Key Stage 3 students, many of whom missed out on the trip due to COVID regulations in the previous two years.
