Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic  In this unit students will learn the importance of being aspirational and how to maintain a high self esteem. They will appreciate the consequences of poor budgeting and learn the importance of living within our financial means by acquiring the knowledge to decipher loans, savings and interest rates.
This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding  There well maybe a great variety of prior knowledge due to content covered by feeder primary schools and what has been covered at home. This will discovered through class discussions, debates and other formative methods to ensure a base line of knowledge has been acquired and able to be retrieved
Key Skills that students should be able to demonstrate at the end of 'Topic' This is the skills  that students will meet for the first time in this topic In order to prepare students for life they must be given the opportunity to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk-management, teamworking and critical thinking in the context of three core themes: health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and aspects of careers education). Students will acquire the skills to make healthy aspirational judgements and decide for themselves how important budgeting is. They will be able to discuss the consequences of poor self esteem and be able to work towards taking the responsibility of living within their own means. Students will know how to design their own budget.
