Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' | This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic | Students will study the chronology of migration to Britain. Students will learn about the story of migration to Britain and how modern Britain has been shaped by different waves of migration. Students will study who came to Britain and when, the focus will be why people came to Britain and factors that allowed for migration to take place (voluntarily and forced) and their treatment on arrival. | |
This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding | Students will retrieve knowledge from the Norman Conquest, students will retrieve knowledge from the transatlantic slave trade and abolition of slavery in the UK. Students will retrieve knowledge of the wars of the twentieth century and the persecution of the Jews. | ||
