What will students learn What can we do to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic  Study of globalisation by recognising how much  imports are relied on in everyday lives, considering how and why this has changed overtime in the UK (economic activity and technological advances).  Both the positive and negative impacts of globalisation will be investigated with a focus on TNCs, child labour and environmental impacts. 
This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding 

Students already have knowledge of some countries and continents.    

Students have knowledge of the idea of economic activity and trade links.  

Students have knowledge of the term impacts on people and the environment (particularly climate change). 

Key Skills that students should be able to demonstrate at the end of 'Topic' This is the skills  that students will meet for the first time in this topic Students will be able to describe choropleth and topography maps.  Students will learn to use symbols on maps.  Students will be able to classify information. 
This is skills that students may have met before but will need to develop  Students will be able to use a variety of maps to locate places; along with Atlas' and use a range of map skills including directions.
